PURRRCAFE STATEMENT REGARDING CAT CAFE CLOSURES

We understand there has been a lot of concern of late about the articles regarding cat cafes in the uk. Our customers have raised the headlines to us.

We would like to take the time to discuss these matters with you.
From what we understand the main issues raised are the welfare regarding the cats living at the cafes.
We personally would like to assure the public that we here at PurrrCafe do everything we can to assure the welfare of all the cats within our setting.
*Our cats visit the cafe, they do not live there.

*Our cats live together normally at home and all get along with each other.

*Our cats are loving family pets first.

*We work with our local council licensing department and are guided by them regarding the rules of the cafe and welfare of the cats.
*Our staff are trained and we have strict hourly checks on each cat, to ensure they are happy and healthy. These records are kept on site for 3 years.

Any stressed or unhappy cat is always removed and taken to a safe pace with no public access.
Any cat that appears unhappy is dealt with swiftly and taken home if needed.
Because these are our pets and our staff have been with us now over a year, they know each cat personally and can meet their individual needs accordingly.
We use an enrichment programme that we run at the cafe, to stimulate their normal feline instincts.
We have lots of hide holes and high areas for them to use if needed.
Our cats are pedigree and it is bred in them to be sociable, this is due to selective breeding for desirable traits that you all know and love about our cats here at PurrrCafe.
Selective breeding can lead to a feline with a more consistent personality and friendliness.
making our cats more sociable and happy in the cafe environment.
They are also DNA tested for all known diseases within their breed.
Most of our cats were bred by myself and our cats have been raised in a busy, sociable household with many children, other pets including our dog.
Our cats have access to the outdoors, we have safe cat friendly enclosures with cat trees for them to use daily.
Our cats live inside only, so have never wondered alone outside, they are not missing out.
Our cats are safe, healthy and well loved and cared for.
The entire cafe was designed around them, for them to use, it’s their personal playground.
We use different cats on each day and if we have busier days, we choose the cats best suited for that day.
We are closed 3 days of the week.
We have our Rules written alongside our Licensing welfare officer, each rule is there to protect our cats and their welfare. These rules are agreed upon booking.
You are asked on the door before entering the cafe and are enforced by all of our staff members.
We have cctv in every corner, we use and can see all areas of the cafe from the kitchen and behind the bar at all times. So all members of the public and cats are continually monitored.
Our cats are fed a high quality raw fed diet, the treats we use are 100% meat freeze dried.
Going forward we have used this as a great opportunity to make some changes to the cafe, the website has been updated.

Welcome to Purrr Cafe Cafe: Where Cat Lovers Gather

Our Cats are our Pets! They are much loved family members. They DO NOT live inside the cafe, they visit the cafe. We rotate the cats and will only bring happy healthy cats to the cafe.

The cats have access to the outdoors! In safe pet friendly enclosures.

We have multiple cat trees and toys inside our home. The cafe is a great day out for them as they know the cafe well and welcome all the attention.

We have multiple children and they love to snuggle on their beds with them and watch them play games or watch tv.

Although we offer a wide variety of hot and iced drinks, we also provide savoury and sweet food options. So whether you're stopping for your morning coffee, lunch or an afternoon snack we've got you covered! {in furrr} at the all new Cat Cafe.

We are very proud to support local and bring to Purrr Cafe locally sourced produce. From the finest meat's from our quality local King's Butcher's to the famous stunning Gin's of Whatahoot that's distilled a few doors down from us, and our freshly ground coffee is from tropics coffee on the Hardwick.

Bringing you quality, comfort and and experience's that will keep you coming back time and time again.

A BIT ABOUT US

We are a large family a household of 11, we have a number of animals including our crazy dog ladi. We knew the cats would love the cafe as it was made with their best interests at heart! they don't want to leave.

they are used to lots of children and love company of humans and to play.

We often have a house full as most of our friends have big families too, so we just knew the cats would love to come to the cafe as large numbers and children do not phase them. all being our own cats we have had from either birth or kitten they have had a wonderful upbringing with no expense spared. At home we own a closed cattery we have litters a few times a year, we also have a dj company JAKROPA and NUAV a high quality sound and lighting, including cctv company.
